Sutra: The Big Blue Box

Well, would you look'a here! This here is a big blue box, with added windows!

So I guess you can see that we have wrapped our house in sisalation (blue stuff) which is very exciting because it really gives you an idea of what our house will feel like from the inside (plus shiny-ness)

This is a picture looking up our hallway towards the master bedroom before the windows have been pulled back

This is after the windows have been pulled back! Wow so much light! Yay!

And this picture here is of the walk in wardrobe, ensuite and bathroom!
[It's quite difficult to tell the difference but the WIR is the first room in the right of the image. The ensuite is in the middle (door to ensuite is in the left of the image) and you can also see the bathroom (look for the wall joists which separate the ensuite and bathroom. {all bathroom floors are white cement stuff})]
Ok... The point is... Check out how awesome my walk in is going to be why don't you!!!! Jealous yet?

Yup, so aren't you glad I shared this update with you :)
Also, I have tomorrow off. Ha!

Sutra: Pretty Yellow Flowers

Look at these very pretty flowers that a work colleague picked from the gardens and left on my desk. So pretty and bright!

My January Glossy Box. Why oh why did they stick these god aweful Australia Day stickers in the boxes? They would have been better to have some nice subtle ones, and just a couple of them. Aside from that, can't wait to try the Sheer Cover lip gloss and the Mirenesse liner. The rest is pretty meh.
And finally, this AMAZING cake which a friend (K) made for another friend (C) for her 26th!
How gorgeous is it!
Thursday is Australia Day so I have the day off and then am taking a lieu day on Friday. So looking forward to my 4 day weekend!!!

Sutra: Shopping I Can't Afford

I am 100% in love w this gorgeous bag, which I can't afford.

BTW Mary-Kate (guess) Those sunnies are not great w your skin tone...

So I am looking to buy a similar style off ebay for (less than) a fraction of the price. I know, I know, plagiarism and whatever and stealing of creative property or something and moral codes and all that. But really if you were on my wage you would do the same. Also, as if this style is not going to be out of fashion in about 3 months or less! It's probably already soooooo passe, but I live in Tassie, so its OK cos no one down here has any idea (wrong and blatant generalisation) about whats supposed to be the IT thing.

Also very much like these flats. But will wait until Shopbop has a sale I think before I contemplate taking my lemming any further!

Okies well I had better go pretend to be doing some more work while I actually catch up on some blogs :)

Sutra: The Language of Cars

I would like to learn to speak Mandarin. I have an app on my phone and I have been writing these phonecticly written things on the board. But you know what is bad? I can get ann the answers right while I am playing w the app, but I have no idea what words I just leaned when I think about it later!!!
Damnit!

Below is my niece who is posing with the car I would like. We went to the car yard w my mum cos she is looking at selling her PT Cruiser and buying a more practical car. So I made my niece run around and pose with all the nice cars! She thinks I am an utter looney.
But you know, old people and stuff...

Sutra: Antique

Lately I have rediscovered my old film camera from college! Its a Nikon F55 and I even had a roll of unused film in the camera bag!
Unfortunately I remember nothing about photography and camera settings. So I managed to rewind the first film after only 6 shots!
So I got another roll of film to play with anyways, and managed not to rewind it again!

Thats a hot ass!

So thats what happens when you dig out a fab old film camera and decide its your new best friend!

In other news, I am so excited because on Monday night the rabbit I brought for my niece is coming home with me for the night before I take it to its rightful home with my niece!!!
I am soooooo excited for all the bunny cuteness I am going to witness!

Damn it!
I hate being in town at this time of year also. everyone is always really annoyed!

Sutra: This roof will not provide shelter.

Hello,
I have been terribly busy doing important things, like:
Building a house
Shopping for xmas pressies for 100000000 people
Working in a job which makes me tired
Organising a rabbit to give to my almost niece (fun!)
Going to board meetings (bleargh)

I love the way the sun lights up the timber framing! It looks warm and lovely. This image does not do it justice!

Living area picture! You can see exactly whats going on here right?

This last 2 images you can kinda see the roofing joists, which is what we have been doing lately! Now comes the fun part where we have to leap from joist to joist while doing the roofing iron. Lucky I am not afraid of heights huh?
And this? Well this is a pen w a tractor in it... Cool huh!

ETA: Oh you can clearly see the parapet walls! These are essentially a wall on top of a wall which the roof will sit inside. So our house will look like a big box rather than having a slanted roof... This is for no other reason than the looks of the house. Which is what happens when a fantastic, super modern architect designs your house for you!

Sutra: Where did my weekend go?

We of course spent much of it up the block. But thankfully I had a chance to do some fun things too!

I had Friday off to help my friend move house. Mostly because I wanted to have a sticky beak at her new house, but also cos I am a nice person. Here is a picture of some boxes. I moved many of these.

We had a productive weekend up the block with. As you can see from the image below the external frame is now all finished. The linkway was the last thing to be done. Now we have started on the parapet wall before going and doing the internal walls. (parapet walls are kinda annoying to explain but its basically a wall on top of a wall... You will find out more in the future when we are finished working on them.)

On Sunday morning I went strawberry picking with my sister and her boyfriend. And treated myself to this tasty tasty ice cream. mmmmm yum!

Unfortunately we were not actually allowed to pick the strawberries! Because they were having a rest day to ripen up after being picked almost clean over the past few days :( So instead we picked raspberries! Very nearly as good!

This little guy had made a home in our stacks of timber. He could not stay there lest he be crushed by falling boards. So I had to relocate him! Cute huh!

Beautiful sunset in the afternoon at the block! (one day I may actually have to start calling it my house...)

So what did you all get up to??
Have a good week
x
