Sutra: Arachnophobic's should look away...

I don't like spiders. They are fine as long as I can't see them. But I have some photos of spiders who have been in my life recently to share with you. But first lets look at some highland plant life...

This native highland plant thing is lovely. I love the pink and pale turquoise-ey colouring. I actually would like to incorporate that pink into my house some how...

This moss is terribly interesting. I love moss, which is strange, I know. But I actually think its really lovely. This moss looked soft like a little green pillow, but up close it has spiky leaves, and to touch it's hard like a rock is underneath. But there is not. I checked!

Ok now for the spiders...

Ew. yuck. Your trying to hide. But you should know I see you. And if you come near me I have a shoe and I am not afraid to use my whole body's weight (not insignificant) to crush you.
*disclaimer: I prefer not to crush spiders, I am from the school of 'live and let live' and I feel bad if I do squish them... But if it was a life or death situation.... well

Ok your not too bad. Just please do no crawl near me...

Argh! What the feck are you doing in my car. In the dark. While I am driving. Don't you have some place other to be? Like outside?

Ew ew ew ew ew
*I did not squish any of these spiders. The one in my car I actually managed to flick out with my shoe this morning. I took approx 2 minutes of mumbling to my self and swiping with shoe before it fell out.

Now, aren't you glad I shared all that with you. It was very insightful, and kinda made my stomach turn.

Ok, now think about moss.... Much better

Sutra: The Disclaimer...

Ok, I am sorry if I say something to you, or you say something to me and I reply, which sounds weird/ridiculous/offensive etc.
I actually can't help it. I am slightly to the left when it comes to chit chat.
It's inherited I think. My mum says she says stuff that other people feel is weird too. I am yet to see this and I have nearly been in her life for half her life!
I really need to say straight after "Sorry that was a dumb ass thing to say/ not funny at all" But then I believe thats even more awkward than just letting it go.
So if I am ever communicating with you and you think t your self "Gosh this girl is a bit odd" now you can understand that this is a natural reaction upon meeting me and you are not alone!
Happy now?
K bye

Sutra: Where did my weekend go?

We of course spent much of it up the block. But thankfully I had a chance to do some fun things too!

I had Friday off to help my friend move house. Mostly because I wanted to have a sticky beak at her new house, but also cos I am a nice person. Here is a picture of some boxes. I moved many of these.

We had a productive weekend up the block with. As you can see from the image below the external frame is now all finished. The linkway was the last thing to be done. Now we have started on the parapet wall before going and doing the internal walls. (parapet walls are kinda annoying to explain but its basically a wall on top of a wall... You will find out more in the future when we are finished working on them.)

On Sunday morning I went strawberry picking with my sister and her boyfriend. And treated myself to this tasty tasty ice cream. mmmmm yum!

Unfortunately we were not actually allowed to pick the strawberries! Because they were having a rest day to ripen up after being picked almost clean over the past few days :( So instead we picked raspberries! Very nearly as good!

This little guy had made a home in our stacks of timber. He could not stay there lest he be crushed by falling boards. So I had to relocate him! Cute huh!

Beautiful sunset in the afternoon at the block! (one day I may actually have to start calling it my house...)

So what did you all get up to??
Have a good week
x

Sutra: The Economy

Today I am working. I am not an economist and I know nothing really about economics, aside from the little I learn't by attending the subject in University (I didn't like it).

But today I would like to take a few seconds to speak about the subject.

Right now the economy is going through this kinda sucky time warp period where no one really knows whats happening and things are trying to be sold for too much and people want to pay too little.

For instance, the property market where I live is all crazy, wherein people are trying to sell their houses for much more than they are worth because they paid so much more for them a few years back.

Also tourism (my industry), is having a very slow start to the season and visitor numbers are down slightly. Spend p/individual is down a tonne, which doesn't affect me directly but affects the business I work for and means that we have to talk about it heaps.

On to the AUD which was for a long time above parity with the USD (hello online shopping) But is not back at parity. :( *sad face*

Luckily prior to the USD gaining some ground, I managed to put in a VS order which has just arrived!

Yippee for my awesome new bathers and makeup! Will have to post some pics because the website I don't think... I LIED well not exactly cos its these bathers but in the black w gold spots which there is not a pic of. Also got THIS in Star. Which is great cos I love some shimmer in my life and this stuff is v shimmery!

Ok well I hope that post didn't make me sound too much like I have not idea what I am talking about (which I don't). But I felt the need to ramble somewhere and this stuff has been on my mind lately.

Well that, and a whole bunch of other stuff which may well be even less interesting!

Sutra: That geeky feeling

eeeeeeeeee! To my new phone which I was finally able to pick up on Tuesday morning!

Here Follows Rant:

So Aus Air Express tried to deliver my parcel to my home and no one was there. So obviously they took it to the next Post Office on their route which is 10min from my home.
I work 9-5, an hour out of town, which means leaving home at 8am and getting home at 6pm. The Post Office they took it to is only open 9-5. They could have taken it to my local Post Office (open 7-7) and dropped it there (where most of my mail goes) But no. They didn't.
Call Aus Post and ask for it to be transferred: "You will have to pay postage"
Could someone else collect it for me: "No, you will need to show ID upon collection"
ARGH!!!!!

End Rant...

Sutra: Shopping...

Sooooo, I decided to do some online shopping....

Belt Jacket and Flats are all from asos.com and the rest are from topshop.com

usually I am an all black kinda girl but I am attempting to mix it up and I figured the best way to celebrate asos now having an Australian website was to buy stuff from it :-)
So I did.
Now I hope that everything fits me and that it looks ok on me! (which it might not and probably wont)

we shall see!
Have a good day

p.s. dont worry I am not planning on wearing all that stuff together, that could be a weird mix

Fattyboombah

I am fat
I am past internally convincing myself that it is only my winter weight. I need to now convince myself that I should eat healthier and exercise more in order to be fab and skinny like Candice Swanepoel.

Image screen shot off VS Access website
Is she freaking kidding me with that body? This is not even a good image! damn!
Ok whatevs, so I will never look like CS due to the fact that I bad genes when it comes to distribution of musculature etc (large stupid calf muscles and huge arm and neck muscles).

So today in honour of deciding that I actually am fat, I did some reps using my Val Slides and like the usual fun stuff (sit ups and those upside down bikey legs and stuff)

Val Slides
Ok so no one would pay me to train them cos I have no idea what I am talking about... But thats ok because I only have to train my self!

Then in other news which does not make me fat, I have run out of patience for paying $25-35 for my shampoo and conditioner off Strawberrynet and so lately when I ran out of my Aveda shampoo I went to the super market and grabbed a bottle of Organic Care shampoo from Woolies. It smells like coconuts which is fabulous and really I kinda think that a shampoo is a shampoo, unless its blue (which mine was not)
Coconut smelling shampoo and conditioner
Cos I was so entranced by the coconut smell of the shampoo I was like "Ok well really for $3something you can also try the conditioner" So I went ahead and brought it! And do you know I think my hair felt softer from using it than it does with Aveda (N.B. Quantities used may vary LOTS due to price differentiation) I will keep using Aveda treatments tho cos they r lovely and make my hair less knotty and cos it gets blonded some and also straightened daily it NEEDS help!

How come some people can straighten their hair and the straightness lasts like 2 days, where mine goes all crumply at night?

Thats all. I am going to brush my teeth now :)

Sutra: The Weekend

So, it rained a bit on the weekend. By a bit I kinda kinda torrential annoying windy rain and hail!

On Saturday I had an amazing day and went out to lunch to UtSi in Perth with a couple of my friends. It was amazing! I was in love and I cannot wait to go back and try something else!!!

My lunch! Chicken Tagine with couscous and some other good stuff!

Skinny latte which was also awesome!

Sunday, It rained. So I did this to my hair. (Not a pro)

This is how it looked after. I could have just slept on it... (excuse the clothes. Was cleaning out naughty cupboards)

This is what happens when you take a pic of the back of your head just for fun while you are driving... This is not sane. Do not do it.

Thats alll!!!!! Footings all done at the block now :) So now my love J is busy drawing up rectangles on the computer which represent big bits of steel. Lucky he knows what is going on!

Oh oops. You know what... Better check what day I am up to!

Sutra: Funny Day

Yesterday I had 3 funny things happen to me! Well they were funny at the time, but me trying to explain them will not be funny probably...

so the first thing was when I got to work in the morning I was sitting in my office chair and kind of bending over and down to get my phone charger so I could plug in the work phone and the whole chair tipped! I was stuck sorta on the wall and I could not for the life of me make the chair stand back up! One of the other people in the office had to give me a hand as I was trapped!

Then after work I went to the supermarket and I walked past the checkouts and there was a tall very pale man wearing all black (with punk something on his jacket) standing in the line. I got the batteries I was looking for and then came back to line up behind this tall person because all the other lines were more busy. And do you want to know what he was buying? 3 Bulbs of garlic! That was all!!! So of course I am in the line chuckiling to my self and thinking of all manner or vampire related garlic stories.

Finally I went to pick up dinner, as we were eating at the block. when i get to the restaurant there are 2 people outside looking at the menu on the wall. I walk to the door and try the handle, but the door wont budge. Then I have a flash of memory and think to my self, Uh huh!!! The door is jammed, so I press on the handle and put my weight behind it and it opens! The man looking at the menu is practically doubled over in laughter! I guess he has never seen a blonde chick force a door before! Seriously the man could not stop laughing!

So that was my day. stuff like that does not happen that often...
